Each ml contains:

timolol maleate 6.83 mg,

which corresponds to the content of timolol 5.0 mg

Auxiliary components:

Sodium phosphate monobasic, sodium benzalkonium, sodium hydroxide, water for injection.

Properties:

Non-selective beta-blocker. When applied topically in ophthalmology, it reduces both normal and elevated intraocular pressure by reducing the formation of intraocular fluid and improving its outflow, does not affect accommodation and pupil size.

It has antianginal, hypotensive and antiarrhythmic effects, which manifest themselves with systemic use.

Indications:

For use in ophthalmology: increased intraocular pressure, chronic open-angle glaucoma, angle-closure glaucoma (as an additional agent in combination with miotics), secondary glaucoma (including aphakic), congenital glaucoma (with the ineffectiveness of other therapeutic measures).

Dosage and administration:

Conjunctival.

Adults and children over 10 years of age: instill into the conjunctival sac 1 drop of a 0.25% solution 2 times a day, with insufficient effectiveness – 1 drop of a 0.5% solution 2 times a day. If necessary, the dose can be reduced to 1-2 drops 1 time per day.

Contraindications:

AV block II and III degree, sinoatrial block, bradycardia, SSS, arterial hypotension, chronic heart failure stage IIB-III, acute heart failure, vasomotor rhinitis, Raynaud’s disease and other obliterating vascular diseases, metabolic acidosis, lactation.

Precautionary measures:

Use with caution in patients with impaired liver function, kidney function, diabetes mellitus (especially labile course). With prolonged use, it increases the level of triglycerides in the blood plasma.

Safety and efficacy in children have not been studied.

In ophthalmology, it is used for a long time, therefore, during the treatment period, it is necessary to examine the cornea at least once every 6 months, monitor the function of tearing and the state of the visual fields.

Side effects:

On the part of the organ of vision: when applied topically, irritation and hyperemia of the conjunctiva, eyelid skin, burning and itching in the eyes, lacrimation, photophobia, swelling of the corneal epithelium, punctate superficial keratopathy, corneal hypoesthesia, diplopia, ptosis, dry eyes are possible. During fistulizing antiglaucoma operations, retinal detachment may develop in the postoperative period.

With systemic use, heart failure, bradycardia, AV blockade, arterial hypotension are possible; headache, sleep disturbances, nightmares, asthenia, agitation, depression, paresthesia and cold extremities; nausea, vomiting, diarrhea; shortness of breath, bronchospasm; muscle weakness; skin allergic reactions, exacerbation of psoriasis, dryness of the conjunctiva.

Storage method:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees, after opening the shelf life is 28 days.
