Protolans is a drug based on dexlansoprazole, designed to reduce the secretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. This is an innovative proton pump inhibitor (PPI) with prolonged (biphasic) release, which ensures long-term and stable action. It is used for acid-dependent gastrointestinal diseases, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis and others.
Composition:
• Active ingredient: Dexlansoprazole (Dexlansoprazole 60 mg) (in the form of granules with slow release)
Pharmacological properties:
• Dexlansoprazole is the R-enantiomer of lansoprazole, which has increased bioavailability and effectiveness.
• Inhibits the proton pump in the parietal cells of the stomach, reducing the acidity of gastric juice.
• Thanks to dual-release technology, it works longer than other PPIs, allowing you to take the drug once a day.
• Eliminates heartburn, heals erosions and reduces the risk of relapse.
Indications for use:
• Treatment and maintenance therapy of erosive esophagitis
• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) with severe and frequent heartburn
• Dyspepsia, gastritis, peptic ulcer (as prescribed by a doctor)
• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (as part of complex therapy)
Method of administration and dosage:
• Adults:
– For GERD: 60 mg once a day, preferably before meals
– Maintenance therapy: 30 mg once a day
• Duration of the course is 4-8 weeks, depending on the severity of the disease and the doctor’s prescription.
Important: do not chew or open the capsules. Swallow whole with water.
