Nitro MAC Retard – a vasodilator used for the prevention of angina attacks.
A prolonged-release preparation based on nitroglycerin, used for the treatment of ischemic heart disease and relief of angina symptoms.
Composition (per 1 capsule):
• Nitroglycerin – 2.5 mg (in the form of prolonged-release capsules).
Pharmacological properties:
Nitroglycerin is an organic nitrate compound with a potent vasodilatory effect. It relaxes the smooth muscle of blood vessels, mainly veins, reduces venous return to the heart (preload), and moderately dilates arteries and coronary vessels. This leads to a decrease in myocardial oxygen demand and reduction of angina pain.
Retard capsules provide prolonged release of the active ingredient, allowing for stable nitroglycerin levels in the blood.
Indications for use:
• Prevention of exertional angina attacks
• Treatment of ischemic heart disease (IHD)
• As part of combination therapy for chronic heart failure.
Method of administration and dosage:
• Usually: 1 capsule (2.5 mg) 2–3 times a day
• Swallow the capsule whole, without chewing, with water
• Take after meals
The dosage is selected individually depending on the clinical situation.
