Description:

Sugarlo Plus is a combination oral medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. It contains two active ingredients: vildagliptin, an islet cell enhancer, and metformin, a biguanide. It lowers blood sugar levels by increasing insulin secretion and decreasing glucagon production, and improves tissue sensitivity to insulin.

Indications for use:

-Type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients already taking vildagliptin and metformin separately.

-In combination with sulfonylurea derivatives in patients insufficiently compensated with metformin and a sulfonylurea derivative alone.

-In combination with insulin in patients for whom a stable dose of insulin and metformin does not provide sufficient glycemic control.

-The drug is used in combination with diet and physical activity.

Dosage and administration:

The usual dosage is one tablet twice daily, during or immediately after meals.

The maximum daily dose is 2 tablets.

The dosage may be adjusted by the physician taking into account renal function, the presence of concomitant drugs (eg, sulfonylurea derivatives) and glucose control.

Contraindications:

-Allergy to vildagliptin, metformin or other components of the drug.

-Severe renal impairment.

– Liver disease or previously known liver dysfunction while taking vildagliptin.

-Recent myocardial infarction, heart failure, shock, respiratory failure.

-Diabetic ketoacidosis, diabetic coma.

-Type 1 diabetes mellitus.

-Conducting X-ray examinations with the introduction of contrast agents.

-Children under 18 years of age.

Precautions:

Other medications containing metformin should be stopped to avoid overdose.

Alcohol consumption should be limited.

It is necessary to regularly monitor liver (ALT, AST) and kidney function.

Use with caution in diseases that promote hypoxia (eg, infections, dehydration).

Side effects:

Diarrhea, flatulence, abdominal pain, metallic taste, loss of appetite

Hypoglycemia (with combination therapy)

Arthralgia

Weight gain

Rarely:

Rash, itching, hives

Liver dysfunction, hepatitis

Lactic acidosis (with metformin overdose)

Severe allergic reactions (swelling of the face, tongue, difficulty breathing) require immediate discontinuation of the drug and seeking medical attention.

Pregnancy and lactation:

The drug is contraindicated during pregnancy.

During pregnancy, preference is given to insulin therapy.

During treatment with Sugarlo Plus, breastfeeding should be discontinued.

Storage method:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C in a dry place.

Do not use after expiration date.

Keep out of reach of children.
