Napizole 20 mg 14 capsules
Composition:
omeprazole 20 mg in each capsule.
Pharmacological properties
Omeprazole inhibits the activity of the proton pump (H⁺/K⁺-ATPase) in the parietal cells of the stomach, which leads to a decrease in both basal and stimulated secretion of hydrochloric acid. This promotes the healing of ulcers and a reduction in symptoms associated with increased acidity.
Indications for use
• Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.
• Reflux esophagitis.
• Erosive and ulcerative lesions of the stomach and duodenum associated with the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
• Helicobacter pylori infection (as part of combination therapy).
• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Method of administration and dosage
Adults:
Recommended dosage
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) 20 mg once daily for 4 weeks
Gastric ulcer 40 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks
Duodenal ulcer 20 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks
Helicobacter pylori infection 20 mg every 12 hours (2 times daily) for 10-14 days as part of combination therapy
Erosive esophagitis 20 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks, then if necessary – 20 mg once daily for up to 1 year
Zollinger-Ellison syndrome 60 mg once daily (if necessary, the dose can be increased to 360 mg per day, divided every 8 hours)
Children:
Use in children is possible only on as prescribed by the doctor and taking into account the child’s weight and age.
Directions for use: Take the capsules orally with a small amount of water, preferably before meals. Do not chew or break the capsules.
