Composition:

• Active ingredient:

Famotidine — 20 mg.

Famotak 20 mg is an antacid drug from the group of H2-histamine receptor blockers, used to reduce gastric acid secretion in various gastrointestinal diseases, including ulcers and gastritis.

Pharmacological properties:

• Suppresses secretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach
• Effective for nocturnal hypersecretion
• Acts up to 12 hours after administration
• Promotes healing of ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal mucosa.

Indications for use:

• Peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum
• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
• Erosive esophagitis
• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
• Functional dyspepsia with increased acidity.

Dosage and administration:

Dosage for treatment of ulcers and esophageal reflux:
20–40 mg once daily before bedtime or twice daily as prescribed by a doctor.

Preventive dose for duodenal ulcer:
20 mg once daily before bedtime.

Dose for Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, mastocytosis, or multiple endocrine disorders:
20 mg every 6 hours. Dose and duration depend on the disease course.

For patients with severe renal impairment:
20 mg once daily before bedtime.

Tablets are taken orally with water, regardless of food intake.
