Tymer 0.3 eye drops 5 ml
Composition:
Each 1 ml of solution contains:
• Gatifloxacin — 3 mg (0.3%).
Tymer 0.3% is a broad-spectrum antibacterial eye drop.
The medication is used for the treatment and prevention of bacterial eye infections. It belongs to the fluoroquinolone group of antibiotics.
Pharmacological properties:
Gatifloxacin is a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, disrupting DNA replication, transcription, and repair processes.
Effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including:
• Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae
• Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Pseudomonas spp.
Indications for use:
• Bacterial conjunctivitis
• Blepharitis, keratitis
• Prophylaxis after ophthalmic surgeries or injuries
• Superficial eye infections caused by susceptible bacteria
Method of administration and dosage:
Usually prescribed as follows:
• 1 drop in the affected eye(s) every 2 hours during the first 1–2 days (up to 8 times a day)
• Then 4 times a day for the next 5 days
The treatment course lasts from 5 to 7 days, depending on the severity of the infection. Shake the bottle before use. Avoid touching the tip to the eye.
